hi, i use the file published in this thread to install the coupon component it works fine much better than the one in download section. But with this version module doesn't work, do you have a module for the 1.1 version

You can use the version for the component here and the module from the download link. This is what I can tell you for now. We are busy working on the next version, next-gen Coupon Manager. That will be releasing in the next 3 weeks. You can have a demo of that here: http://clients.skoolsonline.com/coupons

As most of the JoomD users, I'm really looking forward to the new features in v1.3.

Is there any release date planned yet?
(10 days ago, when I bought JoomD, release of 1.3 was announced to be within a week...)

Thanks for your great work!
Chris

Dear Chris

I am sorry for not updating you! We will be taking another 2 weeks before it can be launched. The chief developer has got diagnosed with Dengue fever and wont be available until the next 2 weeks. That has although not halted the developments but he is the one who looks after all the testing etc. before it can be released. I am sorry for any inconveniences you are facing. I will update you as soon as we have it ready for release.

Thanks for the quick response. What I'd like to do is recreate that word document I attached as a template and just have the data stored like the old sporthorse website link I sent. Wasn't sure if that was clear enough with my first message. Is the program customizable enough to allow me to recreate that word doc I attached into a searchable database in JoomD?

I so apologize for my questions - I'm only 7 or 8 months new to Joomla and still feeling my way around.

Thanks again.

Amberlee

No probs Amberlee. Always happy to answer your questions :)

So moving on to your question, You can easily create those fields and include them in search in Custom Fields Manager. For example, you can create textfield for Owner where user will add his "Owner name". You can create another textfield for IM where user will enter his IM details. Then, you can create a Drop Down or Radio b***on field where owner will choose his/her s**. Another textfield for Location. Then a WYSIWIG editor for Background to enter the background details. Then another WYSIWIG Editor for Initial Diagnosis and Symptoms to add his details for the same.

Actually, it's completely flexible and user-friendly and let even a novice do it all very easily.

HI. I've been doing some research for a project I've taken on. I'm searching for a joomla extension to support a Case History database and JoomD was suggested as a possible option. This link takes you to an old system we use that is no longer available to us - and had some limitations.

I need front end users to manage their own case history information including updates, changes, etc.

http://www.sportshorses.com/cases/

Right now, users are just uploading to a word doc template we've created and it's a nightmare for storage. I've attached a copy of this .doc so you can see some of the detail I need.

I'm looking forward to your input on this.

Amberlee

Hi Amberlee

I have been through your site and saw those innumerable list of docs! That indeed is horrible to manage such amount of docs.

With JoomD, you can:

1. Create fields viz. a Textfield, a field with WYSIWIG Editor, Drop down choices, Upload Images, Upload files (Doc, PDF etc.) and all the other fields your doc page needs.
2. Let users submit their docs through the Submission Layout. You can also choose the option to only allow Registered users to submit their docs.
3. Allow Registered users to Manage their documents (Edit, Delete, Update).
4. Receive notification emails once an user submits a document.
5. Enable Captcha security to prevent spams
6. Either make your submissions Public or Private or Semi-private.
7. Enable Search Functionality for all the fields you have created.

All these seven points provide you all the flexibility you need to manage your docs and users.

First of all: JoomD 1.2 is quite good, but I have some features which I think others might like too:
  • Define the target for a field using the type URL (I'd like to open external URL's in a new window to keep my visitors on my site.)
  • Combination Fields as a field type (e.g. use a specified text for a URL not the field name)

looking forward to version 1.3!

Karin

Thanks for your suggestions. We will include them version 1.4. Version 1.3 will be released soon. Just a few hiccups with the chief developer for this project has fallen ill. He is now recuperating fast.

sorry about that did not see that post for some reason. as I am not a css expert can you be more specific on where to do that? and if I adjust it in the css all images will be that size. would it not be logical the set the params when creating a fieldtype.

I did not mean copying mosets, but to be the best you need to whats out there. it was jjust a pointer to another extension useibg fieldtypes.
stefan

fieldtype options will be more extensive in the next two releases. You are right about becoming the best among others by having an idea of what they are already providing.

To change the Image size for categories, search for this CSS: cat_img img
To change the Image size for Detailed View entries, search for this CSS: entry_field img
To change the Image size for Quick View entries, search for this CSS: row_data img

and apply changes to the max height and width.

Oké, hope the plugin will come soon. Still need to know where to handle the image size of fieldtype image. It blows up my images at this time.

Maybe you van check mosets tree. They can give you some pointers on directory listings and fieldtypes. Also is there a rating optoom comming or is there a feature list for the next release?

Regards

Stefan. We aint copying anyone's features. We are just trying to deliver the best among the existing ones. You will receive the promised upgrades for the next 2 months. That's for sure. And yes, a rating and review system is there in the next version, v1.3

I have, in my earlier message, told you to go to CSS Manager and made the changes to the image sizes as you wish it to be.

Hi,

just bought the component, looks like it basically does what I need but it stiill need some work.

When uploading an image it blows it up to a certain size )dont know where tit handles that
I need specific paramters per fieldtype, like an url to an image
stefan

You can manage the image size from CSS Manager. In the next release we will have it as a configurable option in the backend.
You meant you want a fieldtype to either upload an image (which is already there)or Fetch it from an URL?

I would like to combine the strenght of this component with k2. So I have joomd listings but when read more or fieldtype x to link to the article in k2. Ofcourse a quick fix is to just copy paste the url for all listing. Maybe commercialy attractive to build somthing for this, k2 is widely used.

Hope to see these a next relase soon

Keep up the good work

stefan

Very interesting, Stefan! We will have it in the next release.

Though not in v1.3 as the changelog has already been decided for that and adding anything extra would take additional time, so v1.4 will have a plugin for K2 to add articles.

Thanks again!

We will make sure you reap the maximum benefits of purchasing JoomD.

We have the next version of Coupon Manager to be ready with the Store feature to have Coupons for each store and each store can be managed by an unique user.
Next version releasing on 31st August 2010.
