Thanks for the quick response. What I'd like to do is recreate that word document I attached as a template and just have the data stored like the old sporthorse website link I sent. Wasn't sure if that was clear enough with my first message. Is the program customizable enough to allow me to recreate that word doc I attached into a searchable database in JoomD?

I so apologize for my questions - I'm only 7 or 8 months new to Joomla and still feeling my way around.

Thanks again.

No probs Amberlee. Always happy to answer your questions :)

So moving on to your question, You can easily create those fields and include them in search in Custom Fields Manager. For example, you can create textfield for Owner where user will add his "Owner name". You can create another textfield for IM where user will enter his IM details. Then, you can create a Drop Down or Radio b***on field where owner will choose his/her s**. Another textfield for Location. Then a WYSIWIG editor for Background to enter the background details. Then another WYSIWIG Editor for Initial Diagnosis and Symptoms to add his details for the same.

Actually, it's completely flexible and user-friendly and let even a novice do it all very easily.

HI. I've been doing some research for a project I've taken on. I'm searching for a joomla extension to support a Case History database and JoomD was suggested as a possible option. This link takes you to an old system we use that is no longer available to us - and had some limitations.

I need front end users to manage their own case history information including updates, changes, etc.

http://www.sportshorses.com/cases/

Right now, users are just uploading to a word doc template we've created and it's a nightmare for storage. I've attached a copy of this .doc so you can see some of the detail I need.

I'm looking forward to your input on this.

Hi Amberlee

I have been through your site and saw those innumerable list of docs! That indeed is horrible to manage such amount of docs.

With JoomD, you can:

1. Create fields viz. a Textfield, a field with WYSIWIG Editor, Drop down choices, Upload Images, Upload files (Doc, PDF etc.) and all the other fields your doc page needs.
2. Let users submit their docs through the Submission Layout. You can also choose the option to only allow Registered users to submit their docs.
3. Allow Registered users to Manage their documents (Edit, Delete, Update).
4. Receive notification emails once an user submits a document.
5. Enable Captcha security to prevent spams
6. Either make your submissions Public or Private or Semi-private.
7. Enable Search Functionality for all the fields you have created.

All these seven points provide you all the flexibility you need to manage your docs and users.
